DAY & KNIGHT is a local family business run by Jonathan and Charlie Hope specilaising in the manufacture and installation of bespoke fitted furniture. The business launched in January 2000 in Berkshire, UK and is focused on providing beautifully made, quality furniture for your home.

With an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service and outstanding craftsmanship. Our company has grown quickly and we’ve just launched our brand new showroom at the beginning of 2022 in High Wycombe. Along with a slight branding update too.

Our team are all fully qualified surveyors, expert craftsmen, joiners and carpenters. Each of whom take great pride in their work. Our primary goal is to ensure you are completely satisfied with all aspects of your DAY & KNIGHT experience. Our many positive reviews and supportive testimonials are akin to this.

Johnathan Hope - Founder of DAY & KNIGHT

Jonathan Hope

Jonathan started DAY & KNIGHT in January 2000 after a career working with some well-known fitted furniture suppliers. Jonathan’s core values were offering customers an exceptional, personable service, providing outstanding attention to detail and craftsmanship with every piece of bespoke fitted furniture he designed. Sadly, Jonathan passed away January 2023, leaving his legacy to his Son Charlie whom has worked side by side with Jonathan for over 15 years.

It was inevitable that Charlie would follow in his father, Jonathan’s, footsteps and join the family business. When Charlie is not asleep, he is working, having grown the business rapidly and opening Day & Knights first Factory & Showroom! Charlie manages the Factory and visits customers creating beautiful bespoke designs.

Danielle is our Office Manager and the ‘Lady of the house’. From manning the showroom, creating beautiful CAD designs and running the day to day of the business, no task is too big.

James joined the team back in 2014 as an apprentice fresh out of school. It became very quickly apparent that he was going to be a valued team member. Someone to be with us for the long haul. Fast-forward to the present day. He’s now a qualified carpenter with hundreds of satisfied customers.

Callum joined us back at the beginning of 2018, with Charlie being his cousin, we were not surprised at how quickly he picked up the art of what we do! After completing his third year at college he is a fully qualified carpenter and we are proud to have him as part of our team.

Joining straight from College, Albert quickly integrated himself and become a valued member of the team. Albert joined us after completing a Carpentry qualification and utilised his skills by assisting our expert fitters and developing his knowledge further to learn the ‘DAY & KNIGHT’ way to offer expert craftsmanship.

No successful business could work without the man behind the scenes! Logan is our Warehouse Operative expertly crafting our bespoke furniture, cutting, edging and packing our material ready for our fitters to get it on the road ready to be fitted in its new home.

Samuel is our first fitter that joined us later in his career, having been recommended by a friend! He has integrated himself as if he was part of the family and picked up the ‘Day & Knight’ way instantly. Offering exceptional customer service we are proud to have him part of the team.

Theo joined as an Apprentice in his first year of College and works alongside the team on the road and in the Factory supporting where needed. He has quickly picked up the art of what we do and we are excited for him to become a fully qualified fitter with us.

‘Bespoke’ Experience

Our entire service is completely bespoke, ensuring we can design and manufacture furniture that fits your family and lifestyle perfectly. We have four essential steps that form the heart of our specialist tailored process.

1 The Consultation

STEP ONE
The Consultation

Nearly every bespoke furniture project requires an initial one-to-one consultation, where we can discuss everything that you are looking to achieve from your new furniture solution. Whether it’s a bedroom, home office, kitchen, living room or other area, this stage is crucial to its success.

There is no-obligation here; it simply allows us to quote as accurately as possible. As the very nature of bespoke design allows for unlimited variation. Some smaller or basic projects can be quoted for without a consultation, especially if you are a trade client and supplying us with fully pre-specified technical drawings.

We would like to make it reassuringly clear that we do NOT employ any “pushy sales” tack-tics. Our work speaks for itself, if you’re happy with the consultation, we’ll move on to the FREE design stage.

2 The Design

STEP TWO
The Design

Once we understand your projects requirements, our professional and highly experienced design team will create that perfect made-to-measure fitted furniture design proposal. A design that encompass both beautiful style and innovative functionality for your unique lifestyle.

At DAY & KNIGHT, our design service is provided FREE of charge and it’s here that you will be able to suggest any revisions required. Once the design has been fully realised and you are 100% happy with it, we’ll provide you with a final quote.

If you’re happy with our quoted price we’ll then ask you for a signed agreement and a deposit, before finally heading to production.

3 The Design

STEP THREE
The Production

After the final design has been signed off, it will be sent through to our talented furniture production team. Here our state-of-the-art CNC machinery will cut the components to millimeter perfection.

All holes and fixing points for hinges, door handles, drawer runners and gas struts, etc. are also CNC engineered for total and complete accuracy. Panels or cabinets requiring edging will have this applied by our new automated edge-bander, achieving that perfect finish every time.

Our production team manually checks all works before they leave our Berkshire factory to ensure a trouble free installation.

4 The Design

STEP FOUR
The Installation

This is where the magic happens. The DAY & KNIGHT expert installers will complete any preparation or construction works either before or on the day of installation. Scheduled timing depends on the projects size or works involved and will be agreed in advance.

Our qualified and skilled craftsmen will then undertake the installation of your bespoke fitted furniture in the room (or rooms) required. Disruption will be kept to a minimum and we will do our upmost to accommodate any special requirements or neighbours.

We aim to leave our installations in showroom condition and like to have professional photos taken for our portfolio, but only upon a client’s approval. Should you experience any unlikely issues at any point, please get in touch with the DAY & KNIGHT management team.
