Clever Fitted Furniture Solutions for Small Spaces

Day and Knight Loft Room Wardrobes

From the smallest room in the house to awkward under the stairs space there are plenty of ways to maximise what you have available in your home with some clever storage solutions.

Over our years of design and build experience we’re used to being confronted with the tiniest of spaces and creating a practical and stylish way to install the perfect fitted furniture. In fact it’s these challenges that provide us with some of our favourite design solutions.

Here are ideas as to how we’ve helped our customer’s find the ideal way to use seemingly awkward spaces around their homes with perfect custom made furniture designed specifically for that spot.

Under stairs storage

From a small and compact study, to a place to hide everyday clutter, utilising the space under your stairs is a great way to give you more room. Built in shelving, fitted drawers and a fold down desk area gives you a neat looking office that can be hidden away from view once you’ve finished work.

Pull out sleek shelving units, fitted cupboards or floor to ceiling fitted shelves are fantastic for storing all the family’s games, books, shoes, hats and coats. Leaving your living areas feeling more open and easier to keep clean and tidy.

Or why not create a recessed snug complete with fitted book shelves surrounding a built in seating area where you can lose yourself in a good read?

Children’s cabin beds

For most families space is at a premium and none more so than in children’s bedrooms. There never seems to be enough storage space for all the toys, clothes and friends that come over to play.

A custom made cabin bed is the perfect solution for many small children’s rooms. Not only does the raised bed create many play opportunities but extra floor space is created with shelves, cupboards, seating or study area cleverly fitted underneath.

Window storage seat

Another great way to both give your room a face-lift whilst de-cluttering is to fit a seat in the window area. This works particularly well in bay windows and allows you to both dress what is usually an underused space with some gorgeous soft furnishings, and gain extra storage with cleverly hidden drawers or lift top box.

Under bed storage

If your house is like most other households and there’s never enough places to put extra towels and bedding then under bed storage could be just the thing to give these items a home. With a specially constructed divan with drawers these items can be hidden away from sight until they are needed.
