Ah, the joys of childhood! There requires special kind of magic when designing a child’s bedroom, such as this one in Flackwell Heath, Buckinghamshire. DAY & KNIGHT had the delightful opportunity to bring to life a young lad’s dreams and while we’re more used to crafting sophisticated, stately spaces, this project had us positively brimming with excitement.
In this cosy nook of creativity, our latest mission was to design and install a set of fitted wardrobes, but not your garden-variety storage. These bespoke beauties were to safely house a wondrous collection of fabulous Lego models. Each shelf was meticulously measured, ensuring every spaceship, castle, and fantastical city had a home of its own.
Our master craftspeople, with skills honed over years of dedicated work, turned this space into a marvel of modern and fun bedroom storage. The colour mix of warm Indigo Blue and the welcoming hue of Vicenza Oak give these bespoke wardrobes a fun, yet mature feel. The layout of the wardrobes became more than a place to hang clothes. They transformed into a stunning display stage for our client’s son’s impressive Lego ensemble.
But let’s not forget about practicality. Amidst the hubbub of vibrant blocks and tales of bricks, there was a clear need for functional clothes storage. DAY & KNIGHT rose to the occasion, striking the perfect balance between the fun of the display and the streamlined efficiency of storage space, all without compromising the delightful whimsy of a child’s personal haven.

Theo, our very own “super installer” is huge Lego fan and really appreciated the client’s fantastic model collection, and would have loved something like this in his bedroom when he was a kid.
