The Built-In Media Wall With The Secret Entrance (Can You Spot It?)
The start of this transformation began with the magnificent Built-In Media Wall, an exquisite unit constructed from premium materials and finished with a Black Pietra Grigia. This luxury unit is a high-end addition that perfectly complements the client’s enormous cinema television. The media wall is not only functional, accommodating numerous personal items and ornaments, but also integrates a state-of-the-art panoramic fireplace that adds warmth, romance and style to the room.
However, what sets this media wall apart is its hidden gem – a secret entrance door that provides access to an opulent hidden dressing room. This door, carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the media wall, leverages depth and weight in its design to remain concealed when closed. It really adds an element of the “wow factor” to this glamorous Ascot interior.
At a weight of over 1200kgs, the secret entrance door uses a specially sourced double action pivot system (DAPS), mounted to both the floor and ceiling, in order to facilitate its opening and closing. Collaborating closely with the client, DAY & KNIGHT both installed and advised on the sourcing of the most durable mechanism for this highly unique feature.
The Secret Luxury Fitted Dressing Room Hidden From View
Upon entering the hidden dressing room, one is greeted with an exceptional, modern space, designed for both style and function. DAY & KNIGHT crafted a set of custom built-in wardrobes finished in Cheope FD80; a sophisticated cashmere grey with a subtle geometric texture that exudes luxury. Complementing these custom wardrobe units are elegant bronze half-height block handles, perfectly chosen to enhance the overall aesthetic.
Adding to the grandeur is a matching single-shelf vanity unit, featuring a full-height bespoke curved mirror (created in two halves) with integrated LED lighting. All of which is mounted to a decorative wooden cladded panel – creating a great designer focal point. The dressing room, adorned with the client’s artwork and personal décor, achieves an ultramodern and luxurious look.
The Bespoke Walk-In Wardrobes
Adjacent to the hidden dressing room and media wall, DAY & KNIGHT designed and installed a set of bespoke walk-in wardrobes. Maintaining design consistency, the wardrobes are finished in the same premium Cheope FD80 cashmere grey, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the entire interior space.
Incorporating integrated glazed display sections, these wardrobes offer a “designer clothing store” feel. The glass doors with their matt-black surrounds introduce a stylish detail that breaks the uniformity, while the LED lighting within these infuses the wardrobes with a welcoming warmth. The result is a practical and beautifully coordinated walk-in wardrobe space that merges perfectly with the dressing room and media wall area.
