Located in the heart of Bracknell, Berkshire, a clients dream was transformed into reality, thanks to the dedicated hands and hearts at DAY & KNIGHT. Embracing the challenge, we recently had the pleasure of designing and installing a bespoke walk-in wardrobe, but this wasn’t just any project. It was an aspiration to achieve a luxury, classy, and elegant look; something that you might consider seeing in the movies. Yet designed to fit a unique, long and narrow space; complete with its quirks, including angled ceilings on one side.
Our clients, whom after recently having a newly installed ensuite bathroom, sought to complement that space with something equally stunning. Enter DAY & KNIGHT, a family-run affair with a rich heritage of bespoke craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to bringing homeowners’ dreams to life. Our task? To craft not just a walk-in wardrobe, but a blend of elegance, functionality and timeless design.
The room’s dimensions and peculiarities would intimidate most, but for our professional team, it was an exciting puzzle waiting to be solved. The design centred on achieving a seamless flow of luxury and practicality, despite the tight space and angular constraints. The chosen finish of the wardrobes was Cashmere Grey, which brought a serene, spacious and sophisticated ambiance.
High-end knurled designer hardware and our four-panel Eclipse style wardrobe doors added depth for a modern classic feel. But what elevated this design further for the client was the incorporation of a bespoke vanity unit at the room’s end with Velux window above. Complete with soft-close drawers, a cupboard, and a counter, it wasn’t just an addition—it was a small statement piece.
As with every project we undertake at DAY & KNIGHT, this was a labour of love, exemplified by our expert furniture fitters, Sam and Theo. Under the watchful and approving eyes of Bernie, the customer’s dog and our honorary supervisor, they transformed challenges into triumphs, ensuring every detail was meticulously attended to. From the elegant, seamless lines of our custom units that hugged each angle of the room to the soft whispers of the closing drawers—a symphony of craftsmanship was at play.
